for people. It runs inside their Workers platform, and it discards nearly everything a browser exists to do for a human: tabs, themes, pixel-perfect rendering. On Cloudflare's own benchmarks it used roughly 3–4× less CPU than Chromium and between 4.7× and 7× less memory. The trade-off is stated honestly: it's about 1.7–1.8× slower in wall time. But compute and memory drive the bill, so bursty agent workloads come out ahead. Sit with the shape of that. The gain didn't come from a faster engine. It came from deleting the parts of the product that existed only for human comfort. Now hold it next to Gartner's forecast that more than 40% of agentic AI projects will be cancelled by the end of 2027 — on cost, unclear value and weak controls. Both point the same way. Most companies are bolting agents onto processes shaped around human limits. The approval step that exists because someone used to be out of the office. The weekly report that exists because nobody could query the data. The meeting that exists because the document was unreadable. Automating that scaffolding is expensive and produces almost nothing. Removing it is where the money is. Before you ask what an agent could do in your business, ask which parts of the work only exist because a person used to be doing it.
